Overview

Are you the person who gets called when everyone else has run out of answers?

We're looking for an experienced Senior Systems Support Engineer to join a highly professional financial services business on an initial contract basis. This is a role for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, improving systems, and making an impact from the outset.

You'll be a key technical resource across the IT function, supporting a sophisticated user base while helping to strengthen and enhance a modern Microsoft-centric environment. Alongside troubleshooting and support, you'll play an active role in infrastructure, cloud and security-focused initiatives.

What you'll be doing
  • Resolving complex technical issues across Microsoft 365, Windows, macOS and core infrastructure
  • Managing and optimising the Microsoft cloud environment, including identity, collaboration and endpoint management technologies
  • Investigating root causes using diagnostics, logs and reporting tools rather than relying on workarounds
  • Supporting security, access management and compliance-related initiatives
  • Automating administrative tasks and improving operational efficiency through scripting
  • Contributing to technology improvement projects across the wider business
  • Working closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver a high-quality support experience

What we're looking for
  • Strong enterprise IT support experience within a 2nd/3rd line or senior support environment
  • Deep Microsoft 365 administration and troubleshooting expertise
  • Experience across Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, Teams and SharePoint
  • Strong understanding of identity, authentication and access management
  • PowerShell scripting and automation experience
  • Solid networking fundamentals and troubleshooting capability
  • A methodical, analytical approach to problem solving
  • Confidence working in a fast-paced environment with demanding users and multiple priorities

Highly Desirable
  • Previous experience within financial services, investment management or private equity
  • Microsoft certifications
  • Exposure to modern AI productivity tools, including Microsoft Copilot

Why Apply?
This is an opportunity to join a business where technology is genuinely business-critical. You'll work in an environment that values expertise, gives engineers ownership, and offers the chance to contribute to projects as well as day-to-day support.
